Radiofrequency Removal of Plantar Warts

Radiofrequency or radio wave surgery is used for minor surgical procedures like removing warts, or growths. It involves the passage of radio waves into the skin to perform the removal or reshaping of a lesion. Different types of electrodes are used depending on the kind of lesion, e.g. fine needle, wire loop, scalpel blade etc.

Expect minor swelling, redness, bruising and tenderness within the area for some days as it heals. There shouldn't however be any bleeding due to the tissue clotting during treatment.

Warts will be both upsetting to look at and cause social and psychological unease for those whose face is spoilt by such growths. With increases within the occurrence of skin cancers we are well suggested to seek professional, medical advice regarding any growths which appear over night or change dramatically in look. Thankfully though, most growths are benign and harmless, and removal is often quick and easy with reassuring cosmetic results.

Warts

Warts are infectious growths affected by the papilloma virus. They're painless and usually seen as flat, raised or cauliflower like projecting mass of skin. Their size could vary from a barely visible speck in the early stages, to several centimeters in advanced stages. Usually affected areas are hands, feet and face but any part of the body may be concerned due to transfer of infection.

Corns

Corns are most typically seen on the feet as hard, skin colored lumps of dead skin. Large corns press on nerves and will become extremely painful.

Tags

Tags are brown, black or skin colored growths usually seen on the neck and underarms. The tendency to develop tags usually runs in families and has a hereditary pattern. Tags often get held in neck ornaments or clothing affecting severe pain and infection.

Moles and Wart Removal

Moles or Melanocytic nevi are little often slightly raised blemishes on the skin that are quite dark due to high concentration of melanin in them. Typically regarded as "beauty marks" particularly when found in women's cheeks, however, these aren't always beautiful. Moles are hierarchal as epidermal, junctional/mixed and intradermal nevi, depending upon their level of origin and depth.
Moles are treated in a single sitting with the use of radiofrequency, laser or shave excision methods relying upon their level of origin.
